Price of Fame

You could have friends a few
Or everyone may know you
But popularity ain't a game
That's the price of fame.

Some feel guilty or paranoid
For their greatness may be void
One mistake you're brought to shame
That's the price of fame.

When you're famous you're exposed
They'll recognize you even with eyes closed
Hecklers and jokers will use your name
That's the price of fame.

Gossips and papers would destroy
They'd say your talents are just decoy
They'll say you're the one to blame
That's the price of fame.

But when you become a faliing star
When they forget who you are
What once was beautiful now is lame
That's the price of fame.

Only a few will analyze
And even fewer will realize
The hidden truth, we're all quite the same
Well, that's the game of fame.
